Our Dear Family and Friends,

          Jay and I, Neil, have been together for nearly 4 ½ years, having found each other in 1999 while we were attending Indiana University.  Through  those years we have become more than just “boyfriends” or “partners”, we have become the true sense of the word husbands.  As many of you know, we wear wedding bands to show our love and commitment to each other, even though we have never been able to formally get our bond recognized. 

Recently, Canada, our friendly neighbors to the north, has been making same-sex marriages legal, ending years of prejudices towards the gay population.  Ontario, the providence who began the initiative, does not require any sort of residency in order to get married, nor does U.S. say it will or will not recognize same-sex marriage legally performed in another country, it simply says it recognizes all marriages performed in other countries.   Due to this wonderful loophole, our dream of having legal recognition for our love and devotion is coming true.

On Friday July 25, 2003, we will be getting married at 12:00pm at Toronto City Hall.  Jay and I, only wish that it were able to be here in the U.S., so you all could join us in this joyful occasion. 

We would like invite you to our home for an open house reception on Sunday, August 31 anytime between the hours of 12:00pm to 7:00pm. We will have plenty of food, and much merriment to help celebrate this occasion.  Anyone needing directions to our home, please contact Jay via his email or call us.
